Walking And Living A Peaceful Path

A peaceful walk across shallow water.

The gentle patter of the rain.

A heartfelt hug from your son or daughter

The desire to be loved in all of us is just the same.

Walking And Living A Peaceful Path

by Zen Gardener John

Some people wonder how any one person can spend so much time in their garden.  Those that don't know, they haven't discovered the timeless focus, the peaceful joy, and the simple complexity of being in such a mindful state.  Gardeners tending to their garden are creating something beautiful or purposeful in their lives.  From seed to a flower, vegetable, fruit, or a tree - spending time in our gardens is peaceful.  There are no human conflicts there.  No negative energy.  No judgment.  No right or wrong.

The euphoria we feel from the investment of time and energy to the outcome of a beautiful gift from Nature.  At that moment we can ponder life, or not.  We can float on our good memories, or not. We can listen to music from outside of us, or from our internal orchestra or rock band.  Whatever the case, we find our rhythm with Nature and life around us.

How can we help others find that peaceful place?  Not everyone feels comfortable gardening.  How about reading, cooking, painting, or building something that also allows you to lose track of time and bring you to a peaceful place?  How about playing an instrument or painting?  Any inner place of peace where you can create something to share with others, who then can also find their peaceful and positive feelings.

Whatever we do as a group, it should feel like walking on the water at a beach or spending time in our garden.

This Is The Debut of The Mint Mind and Mingling Community

The Debut

by Zen Gardener John

There needs to be a time and space where people who prefer to come to a peaceful place through yoga, gardening or simply mingling with likewise positive people.  Unlike living in the bustling New York City, where I grew up, I now live in the more spaced-out, quiet suburbs of Eastern Long Island.

Living in the suburbs or rural areas, there are fewer opportunities for people to simply gather around and talk and socialize.  After three years of living on Eastern Long Island, and surviving a pandemic, I have discovered that there are some very talented Long Islanders living here.  Yet we do not have many peaceful and productive platforms to get together to develop, organize, and even monetize our skills for our immediate community.  That is why I created this online community to bring us to a real-time end goal.  So I will start organizing small gatherings for like-minded people from my area to do just that.  We can now share our affinity for the arts, craftwork, culinary, book reading, horticulture, and interior and exterior home designs.

I respectfully will add that this space is not a platform for political exposition.  This community's purpose is solely focused on turning professional (and non-professional) energy into positive structures for the greater Long Island community, and similar communities around our nation.  Mint, Mind, and Mingle is a place for healing and to encourage entrepreneurial endeavors to enhance lives.  There is no left or right, no rich or poor, or north shore vs south shore.  There's only one shore, one land, and the entire community of Long Island.  This is about all of us.  The tent has been pitched.  Let us all stand under it and work together.
